In January of 2020 Stacey Coburn and Susan Finseth - Figueroa met by accident in a consignment shop. We hit it off right away, we talked about how owning consignment boutique was a dream we both had. That day was the day that changed both our lives. We wanted our shop to be a place that women would come in and feel beautiful about themselves. Within a month we found the perfect location. Stacey and I were so excited! We signed our lease and then the whole world changed. In the next few months we didn't know what was going to happen. Our landlord was so kind she did not make us pay rent. What a blessing. July came and we got our keys. YAY!!! A few days later we went into lockdown again. Blessed again by our landlord we did not have to pay rent. In August we started getting the shop ready for when we were able to open. It was so much fun. Finally on October 3, 2020 which is Stacey's birthday we opened Serendipity. What a great day our dream was finally coming true. We weren't sure how the business would go with all the stuff going on in the world at that time. With our faith we knew everything would workout.
Sadly, In 2021 Stacey was diagnosed with cancer. On September 11, 2021 Stacey passed away. One month before her 50th birthday.
Stacey was able to fulfil her dream even if it was for a short period of time.I am so grateful to have met Stacey. I couldn't have done this without her. For the short period of time that I new Stacey she has changed my life forever. She will always be apart of this beautiful shop and will be a part of her legacy.
SERENDIPITY- Finding something or someone wonderful by accident, or when you least expect. It was only through pure serendipity(or god) that Stacey and I met.
Never give up on your dreams. Life is too short
